B*LL*CKS – A REHEARSED READING OF A NEW PLAY BY MICHAEL EATON
Nottingham, November 1977, Days Of Strife – fire-fighters, power-workers, Raleigh employees are all on strike while gale force winds batter the county causing road chaos. And in the city… an outraged WPC enters the Virgin Record Store on King Street demanding that the manager remove a record sleeve from the shop window as its title was obscene and likely to offend the morals of the populace: Never Mind The ******** Here’s The Sex Pistols. What followed was a magnificent legal farce finally played out in Magistrates Court Three at the Guildhall. With a cast of larger-than-life characters including John Lydon, Malcolm McClaren, Richard Branson, John Mortimer QC and the Professor of Medieval English Linguistics at Nottingham University this show recreates those days of Filth and Fury.

Michael Eaton will read and perform his new play as a one-man show with a little help from pre-recorded voice artists and punk-aesthetic projected visuals.
