Ride, Dream, Empower: Wadjda & NMWN’s Cycling Journey

"Join us for a special post-Eid celebration with a screening of Wadjda, an inspiring film about resilience, freedom, and the joy of cycling. As part of NMWN’s commitment to empowering Muslim women through our cycling sessions, we invite you to experience this powerful story of a young girl challenging norms to pursue her dream of riding a bicycle.

Wadjda is a 2012 Saudi Arabian drama film, written and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour. It was the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and the first feature-length film made by a female Saudi director. It won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.

No matter your age, it’s never too late to embrace new opportunities—on and off the bike!"

The film will be introduced by guest speakers from Nottingham Muslim Women's Network and Women in Tandem.
