If you're 16 to 25 and want to learn about the makings of film or want to work in the industry, then Broadway's BFI Film Academy can help!

In partnership with the BFI, Broadway’s BFI Film Academy offers opportunities for 16-25s in Nottingham and the East Midlands to get to know more about film and how to make a career in the screen industries.

Through the BFI, Broadway provides a range of accessible activities, courses, workshops, and events offer opportunities for those wanting to test the water through to those keen to hone their skills.

 

BFI Film Academy includes:

Practical filmmaking skills course aimed at young people aged 16 to 19.

 

A variety of specialist courses for 16 to 19-year-olds to develop skills and build a career in the film industry.

 

  • Labs

Labs are free events for young filmmakers to gain industry insight, get professional advice and support to develop their own filmmaking practices. They are delivered as practical masterclasses, workshops, and networking sessions.

 

  • SCENE

SCENE is a series of free events that bring together young filmmakers from across the UK, showcasing their work through screenings, Q&As and networking opportunities, providing a unique opportunity to learn from and be inspired by filmmaking peers.

 

  • Recommends

Recommends are free programmed screenings of highly recommended films made by new and established filmmakers, providing young people with the opportunity to appreciate and learn about the art of cinematic storytelling.

 

This activity is part of the UK-wide BFI Film Academy programme and is supported using funds from the National Lottery.
