Venue Accessibility

Venue access

Our Box Office is located in our main entrance foyer, accessible via a street-level ramp at the front of the building.

All of our screens are fully wheelchair accessible. Screens 1, 3 and 4 are served by a lift to the right of our Box Office from the main foyer, and Screen 2 is accessible by ramp to the left of the foyer.

We have an accessible toilet on our Ground Floor to the left of the main entrance foyer, one on the Second Floor just outside Screen 1, and another on our Lower Ground Floor to the right of Screens 3 & 4.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building, including our screens and Café Bars.

Captioned screenings (C)

Our film programme includes regular captioned screenings. Hard-of-hearing subtitles, or ‘closed captioning’, refers to subtitles specifically intended for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. As well as reproducing dialogue in films, they describe every additional non-dialogue sound available to a hearing audience, e.g. “(sighs)” or “(door creaks)” and song lyrics. These captions are shown on-screen in specially advertised screenings, and are visible to all.

Please refer to the screening key on our homepage to see which films will be presented with captions each week. Due to the nature of how and when information regarding captions is communicated to us by film distributors, we may not know until nearer each film's release date if captions are provided, so please check our website regularly for updates.

Audio description (AD)

Audio description is commentary available on selected films that aims to describe body language, expressions and movements to blind or partially sighted audience members, thereby offering additional information about the film through sound. We have an in-house system that delivers audio description (AD) via headsets, which you can collect from our Box Office alongside your ticket. For best coverage in Screen 1 or Screen 4, we recommend sitting towards the middle/front on the left of the auditorium, in Screen 2 or Screen 3 we recommend the front/middle on the right as you face the screen. The audio description is available each time the selected film is shown and is undetectable to anyone not wearing a headset.

Adverts and Trailers

The advertised start time includes the advert and trailer reels.

The majority of our film programme will feature adverts (provided by Digital Cinema Media) and Trailers for upcoming features. Typically, our trailers and ads amount to no longer than 15 minutes.

Facilities

Screens 1 and 2 are fitted with induction loops for customers using hearing aids - please switch your hearing aid to the T position. You can also use this facility at our Box Office.

Infra-red hearing support is available in all four of our screens - please ask a member of Box Office staff for assistance.

If you have any access or mobility requirements that you would like to make our team aware of in advance of a screening or event, or just want to book a wheelchair space or accessible seat, please call our Box Office on 0115 952 6611.
