About the upcoming information sessions
Broadway is welcoming all interested young people aged 16-19 who are keen to learn more about our upcoming 2024-25 Autumn BFI Film Academy Short Course programme to come along to one of our free online information sessions taking place throughout the Summer.
Young people will have the opportunity to meet and hear from Ella Townsend - Course Lead of Broadway’s BFI Film Academy Short Course (& Young Talent Coordinator of Film Hub Midlands) about what our celebrated course involves!
Information sessions will take place online on Zoom and booking prior is essential via the registration form below. Registration closes at 3pm each day. Limited places available.
Once you have booked your place on your preferred date, you will be emailed the Zoom information session details at 4pm that day from our dedicated filmacademy@broadway.org.uk account.
Please provide the correct details when booking your place and ensure to check your inbox/junk.
What To Expect
The information sessions will cover:
- Overview of the upcoming course programme
- Dates, times and session details
- Setting expectations, aims, and objectives
- The invited 2024-25 BFI Film Academy Industry Tutor and speaker line-up
- Provide tips and pointers on how to complete the application form and what to consider
Past participants of Broadway’s BFI Film Academy Short Course programme will also be joining the online information sessions to share their experiences during their time on the course and what they've gone onto next!
There will be 10-15 mins at the end of the presentation for interested applicants to ask questions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
We urge applicants to be aware that there will be more applications than places on the course programme available, and it is a highly competitive process. We will only accept 20 successful applications.
Therefore, we encourage participants to sign up and attend the available information sessions to get further details about the course and get tips on their application.

DO YOU WORK FOR AN EDUCATION CENTRE OR CHARITABLE ORGANISATION?
On request, Tutors, Heads of Year, Teachers or those who work with young people, can book an in-person visit to your premises to have an information session delivered to your group of interested students/young people.
If you would like to organise a visit from Ella Townsend to your premises, please directly contact Ella at filmacademy@broadway.org.uk to arrange this before applications close on the hard deadline of Sunday 15 September 2024.
