Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £30,000

The Role
We are seeking a Lead for the Film Academy Hub for the East Midlands region. This is part of a British Film Institute UK-wide programme for underrepresented young people, aged 16-25, hoping to start a career in the screen industries, with a particular focus on below-the-line screen industry occupations.
The Film Academy Hub will play a vital role as a central point for participants, offering careers advice, technical training and personalised guidance to help them build sustainable careers in the sector. It will support participants to progress into further training, shadowing, employment, specialist courses and wider industry opportunities.
The Film Academy Hub Lead role will act as a regional point of contact and advocate for young people seeking careers in the screen industries across the East Midlands. They will be responsible for ensuring that young people aged 16-25 take their first step into the professional screen industry by providing an engaging programme of year-round training.
The role will include working with partners delivering short introductory courses for young people and providing regular events and activity with partners throughout the Midlands. The postholder will also work with an Alumni Coordinator who will be responsible for 1-1 and other support for BFI Film Academy alumni.
The Candidate
We seek candidates with experience of managing creative or educational projects with multiple delivery partners; and experience of work with young people in the cultural and creative industries.
Capable with project budgets and data gathering/reporting, the successful candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support young people from diverse backgrounds including young people identified as NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).
Because this role involves significant unsupervised contact with young people aged 16–18 and adults at risk up to age 25, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to UK safeguarding best practices.
