Sister Midnight + Intro

Karan Kandhari’s darkly funny feminist fable - produced by Broadway-based production company Wellington Films - is a wonderfully unpredictable film, accompanied by an eclectic and irresistible soundtrack. Fresh from their arranged marriage, Uma moves into her husband’s cramped one-room home in Mumbai. It is an awkward start and Uma seeks independence by venturing out into the city. However, she starts to experience symptoms of a mysterious feral illness that she cannot shake off. –BFI

Nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer at this year’s BAFTAs, Sister Midnight was produced by Broadway-based production company Wellington Films and Griffin Pictures. Producers Al Clark and Anna Griffin will join us to introduce the film at 7pm.
