This August, we celebrate 35 years since Broadway first opened its doors in 1990. Throughout the programme this month, we’ll be bringing you a series of very special events and one-off screenings to mark the milestone anniversary.
In the years since we’ve been open, the cinema landscape has witnessed a huge shift towards digital projection and very little is now even released on film. While this enables us to present dazzling new digital restorations of classics from the last hundred years of cinema history, there’s still much to be said for the (now rare) pleasure of watching film on film. So this month, to celebrate 35 years of Broadway, we’re pleased to present an eclectic mix of titles all screened from 35mm prints on loan from the collections of our friends at the BFI and Curzon.
