Is there anything better, on a long winter evening, than a good ghost story? In this 10-week course from author and actor Kenton Hall, we’ll examine the history of ghost stories on screen, from the very beginning of cinema to the fright fests of today. We’ll also be asking what it is about ghost stories that continues to fascinate us and why we so very often love a good scare? Expect spookiness aplenty from spirits both benevolent and, well, let’s just say otherwise.
Films to be discussed include: The Signalman, The Others, The Sixth Sense, The Innocents, The Woman in Black, The Uninvited, The Devil's Backbone, Session 9, Poltergeist, Beetlejuice, and Topper.
