Our Relaxed Screenings are specially adapted to be more welcoming and accessible to people with additional needs, such as autism and other neurodivergent conditions, but these screenings are also open to anyone who would prefer to enjoy the cinema in a more relaxed environment.
During Relaxed Screenings, you can expect the following:
- The lights will be left on low in the auditorium
- The volume of the film will be reduced
- The film will play with captions (when they are available)
- Customers are welcome to move around the screen, to stim and make noise, and are free to come and go from the auditorium if you need to take a break
Screenings are fortnightly, early evening on a Thursday and will always take place in Screen 3, one of our smaller screens, located in the lower foyer. If you need a break, there will be a Quiet Space in the Library, which can be found on the same floor.
Relaxed Screenings start promptly at the advertised start time. There will be no ads or trailers before the film and the doors to the auditorium will open 15 minutes before.
Seating is allocated for Relaxed Screenings but you are welcome to move around the screen and change seats. If you need anything during the screening, an usher will be outside and happy to help.
