Making a film is only half the challenge. The other half is getting people to watch it.

Whether you have made a film at university or independently, one of the biggest obstacles filmmakers face is finding an audience, securing screenings and creating a marketing strategy that gives the film a life beyond the edit suite.

This unique four-part course explores the practical realities of film distribution and audience development. Learn how to build viewership whilst making your film, create effective trailers and posters, organise screenings, approach cinemas, generate reviews and create effective social media content.

Drawing on their experiences, having taken two independent documentaries to cinemas across the UK and abroad including OTT platforms, Filmmaker and Barrister Haresh Sood and Editor Will Silvester will teach lessons on mistakes and strategies they wish they had known when they started.

This is a unique filmmaking course that begins where most film courses end.

Please note, Haresh’s dog Pancho will be present throughout all sessions.
