Queer Up Duck! Festival: Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Presented as part of Queer Up Duck! Festival 2026

Set on an isolated island in 18th-century Brittany, the film follows painter Marianne as she is commissioned to secretly paint the wedding portrait of Héloïse. As she studies her subject by day and paints from memory at night, their relationship evolves into a deep intimacy and desire.

This screening will be introduced by Queer Up Duck!'s Jake Orr. There will be no adverts and trailers before the film.
