Broadway set to re-open
After our enforced closure due to Covid-19 on Tuesday 17 March, we plan on re-opening our doors and firing up the projectors again on Friday 25 September.
Having Broadway sat empty for so long has been tough, but now we can’t wait to welcome you back and show you why film on the big screen cannot be beaten.
Being safe at Broadway
We want customers to be comfortable and safe when walking into Broadway and we’ve taken a number of precautions across the venue to get ready for your return. These include:
- Staggered screening times
- One-way system around the building
- Allocated seating in screens
- Reduced capacity in screens
- Adjusting our air conditioning setup
- Anti-bacterial wash stations across the venue
- Increased cleaning across the venue
- Perspex screens at box office
- Mask wearing across the venue
Over the coming weeks, we'll go into more detail about these precautions and how you can help us be as safe as possible.
Re-opening Programme
Upon re-opening, we will initially operate on reduced opening times of Wednesday to Sunday but will still be screening newly released films as well as some that you may have missed over lockdown.
Our opening programme includes new titles such as the critically-acclaimed Les Misérables and the British film Rocks. We’re also looking forward to screening the 4K restoration of Flash Gordon and bringing back the black and white version of Parasite.
In October, we will also be a partner venue for the 2020 BFI London Film Festival (LFF) in partnership with American Express and will be welcoming back the annual Mayhem Film Festival for another edition.
Refurbishment Project
Broadway is now in its 30th year but we don't not intend on looking back. We secured £500K from Arts Council England almost a year ago for the long-planned refurbishment of the Cafébar, Mezz Bar, toilets and foyer, and this work will begin in September. We plan to re-open fully in time for Christmas.
We look forward to sharing more information, images and designs with you over the coming months.
Thank you
We also wish to thank those of you that have supported us over the past six months, either by donating the price of a ticket, purchasing a seat dedication plaque or by streaming a new release via their website. This period of closure has been financially tough for independent cinemas like Broadway and we are extremely appreciative of the support that’s been coming in over the past six months from our loyal customers.

We'll see you soon!
