To celebrate the 4K restoration and re-release of Hearts of Darkness, the celebrated documentary that chronicles the (deeply) troubled production of the film, revisit the film itself. One of the most influential films of the New Hollywood era, Apocalypse Now is loosely based on Joseph Conrad’s 1899 novella Heart of Darkness, the setting moved to the Vietnam War. Martin Sheen stars as Captain Willard, who has been sent to Cambodia on a dangerous mission to assassinate a renegade colonel (Marlon Brando).
