Thatcher’s Britain, 1987. 16-year-old Javed dreams of being a writer and escaping his traditional Pakistani household. When he is introduced to the music of Bruce Springsteen, his world is turned upside down. Each working-class anthem seemingly speaking directly to him, Javed only grows more creative and determined to stand up to the racism around him and challenge his father’s ideals.
