Screening as part of Wellington Films - 25th Anniversary Celebration
Stephen King described this taut 2018 thriller as “a genuine nail-biter”. Lifelong friends Vaughn Carter (Jack Lowden – Slow Horses) and Marcus Trenton (Martin McCann – Blue Lights) head to an isolated village in the Scottish Highlands for a weekend hunting trip. Nothing could prepare them for what followed. Calibre won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film, and was nominated for a record-equalling five Scottish BAFTAs, including a clean sweep of the Best Actor category (won by Lowden).

A maritime warden (Bjarne Henriksen – The Killing) investigates an unauthorised presence on a private island. Made with Film4 and BFI, this horror was the first partnership between Wellington and Palmer, and was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for Best Short Film.
