Every year, countless of girls and boys are commercially sexually exploited in California, most of them listed as simple runaways and often forgotten by authorities. Through testimonials from survivors now courageously fighting for the rights of victims worldwide, and highlighting heroic stories from abolitionist and advocates who work night and day to protect children and to put an end to this epidemic, California’s Forgotten Children is not just a documentary; it is a movement.
This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with film director Melody C. Miller, Minh Dang - Executive Director of Survivor Alliance and University of Nottingham PhD student, Lara Bundock - CEO Dnowdrop Project, and Juliana Semione - Rights Lab Doctoral Researcher.
