The Great Silence is Sergio Corbucci's nihilistic masterpiece, bleak but incredibly beautiful. 

A mute gunfighter named Silence defends a young widow and a group of outlaws against a gang of bounty hunters, led by the vicious Loco, leading to a grim and tense struggle in which the line between right and wrong is not always clear.
