The heist film is one of the oldest sub-genres of cinema. Packed with dreamers, schemers and painstaking jeopardy, it’s far from surprising that it has maintained an audience throughout the history of cinema. Few sub-genres have such clearly defined narrative structures - a smorgasbord of crooks are gathered by a charismatic leader for ‘one last job’.

Jackie Treehorn’s summer-long heist season spans over 60 years, including genre classics and subversives. Screenings will take place both here at Broadway and at Mammoth Cinema.
