Virginia Madsen stars as a skeptical grad student researching urban legends – including the Candyman, who, according to myth, kills anyone who speaks his name five times in front of a mirror. Based on Clive Barker’s short story The Forbidden, Bernard Rose’s Candyman transposes the story from Liverpool to the housing projects of inner-city Chicago, soundtracked by Philip Glass’ classic score.
