Graham Greene was one of the twentieth century's most acclaimed and influential novelists, who just happened to lead a distinctive and equally iconic career as a screenwriter, often adapting his own work into films that came to represent the best of what British cinema had to offer.

Uniquely capable of moving seamlessly between serious literary work - he was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize in Literature on multiple occasions - and the thrillers he called 'entertainments', he entertained and enlightened his audiences in equal measure, and left a lasting impact on both of the mediums for which he was famous.

From The Third Man to The End of the Affair, from Brighton Rock to The Quiet American, Greene's work still holds up today, as we will see over the course of our ten-week deep dive into his canon.
