In 1955 ”the Georges Méliès of Czechoslovakia” directed an imaginative ”lost world” film in colour. With stop-motion puppetry and mechanical puppets Karel Zeman gave life to the wonders of the prehistoric world. The film, about four boys travelling backwards in time, still manages to captivate with its innovative special effects and the great performances by the young actors.
