Rich Peppiatt’s raucous and infectious debut film is a heightened tale of real-life Irish rap trio Kneecap’s origin story.

Set in post-Troubles Belfast, childhood best friends Liam Óg and Naoise find themselves disenfranchised and uninterested in much beyond having a good time. But when a chance encounter with secondary school teacher JJ Ó Dochartaigh sparks the creation of the first Irish-language rap group, things begin down a path none of them saw coming. At the same time, a growing civil rights movement, led by JJ’s partner, is fighting for the right to have the Irish language instated as an official language of Northern Ireland.

Please note: This film contains sequences of flashing lights that may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities.
