Screening as part of Wellington Films - 25th Anniversary Celebration

Wellington Films’ debut feature London to Brighton is a gritty thriller that follows a sex worker and a young runaway on the run to Brighton in a desperate fight to save their own lives before it's too late. Although filmed on a shoestring budget, it was BAFTA-nominated and won the Best Achievement in Production award at the BIFAs. It was later named by Time Out London as one of the top 100 British films of all time. (Produced with Steel Mill Pictures).

Contains very strong language and themes of abuse and violence against women and girls

Screening with short film Royalty (2001, 13m)

This early short film, produced by Alastair and Rachel for So Loose Films, was shot on the streets of Kings Cross at night before it was redeveloped. This snapshot of one night in the lives of sex workers was later developed into London to Brighton, with several characters and actors returning. It premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, and was made with the support of outreach charities.
