My Movie: La La Land

Damien Chazelle’s La La Land joined the canon of great American movie musicals on release in 2016, joyfully referencing and quoting some of the all-time classics while adding its own spin on the genre. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone reunite on screen as Sebastian and Mia, drawn together by their common desire to do what they love. But as success mounts, they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fabric of their love affair.
