This year marks 100 years since the birth of the prolific Sidney Lumet – to celebrate, we’re very pleased to present one of his best loved films, the terrifyingly relevant Network. 

When Howard Beale is informed by the network that he’s about to be dumped because he ‘skews old’, he announces he’ll be committing suicide on his final programme. An ambitious executive convinces her superiors to let the broadcast go ahead, hoping the final event will give the network its best ratings ever.
