Share and refine your sound creations
PART OF SONIC SCULPTURES 2, A SERIES OF EVENTS SITUATED AROUND A STRUCTURE TURNING BROADWAY GALLERY INTO AN INSTRUMENT.
An informal mentoring and feedback session for artists, musicians and makers, led by No Jobs in the Arts and Tom Harris.
Drop in with your sonic creations, at any stage of their development, for support, advice and critical feedback.
Bring along any creative sound and vision pieces to this sharing session and receive constructive feedback on your creations. The informal crit session will be led by No Jobs in the Arts, supported by Tom Harris, a multi-talented artist/musician/technician.
Please join us as we explore the unique and engaging ways in which sound pieces can be shared. Group discussions during the sharing session will focus on how sound can be experienced in a space, for example through presentation of visuals and installations.
What to bring
- Your sound creations: bring anything you'd like feedback on, whether it's a finished piece, a work in progress, or even just a concept you're developing.
- An open mind: come ready to share your work and learn from others.
To help show and share your work, we'll have:
- A projector (HDMI input)
- A speaker
- A experimental sound system (optional, depending on your needs)
- Access to power sockets, for charging/powering playback devices.
We're committed to making sure everyone gets the chance to share something they've been working on or thinking about.
If you are intending to bring something to share, please consider how you can share this with the group. For example, by preparing a link in advance, having the file you want to share on your phone, or bringing an .mp3 loaded onto a USB.
Meet like-minded creatives and get feedback on your sound-based work on Sunday 21st July from 1-3pm.
This event will take place in our Broadway Gallery;
