When it comes to classic monster movies Hollywood and other territories have provided us with some of the very best in larger-than-life delights, with the likes of King Kong (1933), Godzilla (1954) and Them! (1955) still towering above the competition. 

But what happens when those famous creations are revisited or examined through more contemporary eyes? Including plenty of clips ad discussion, this course will explore a handful of remakes or reworkings of classic monsters. Among those being discussed will be John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982), King Kong (1976), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1979) The Fly (1986) and Godzilla Minus One (2024).
