Charles Dickens is one of a handful of select authors whose names are not only recognisable by people across the globe but have also created a style so distinct as to spawn an adjective. To this day, the word Dickensian sums up not only the singular work of one novelist, but an entire strand of how we tell stories and the characters with which we populate them. Over 10 weeks, tutor Kenton Hall will explore the world of Charles Dickens as translated to the screen and look at how his stories have become part of both the culture and our very sense of the past.
