Fancy Dance

The brilliant Lily Gladstone, who narrowly missed out on the Best Actress Oscar this year for her performance in Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, stars here as Jax, who, following her sister’s disappearance, cares for her niece Roki. Every spare minute goes to finding her missing sister, but the search gradually becomes a far deeper investigation into the complexities of Indigenous women moving through a colonised world while at the mercy of a failed justice system.
