Memories of a great love and loss during the 1947 Partition are recounted by 95-year old Ishar Singh Gewal (Naseerrudin Shah) of a young Sikh and Muslim girl in love living in Sargodha. As he shares his story with his London residing grandson, Nirvair (Diljit Dosanjh), the past unfolds through deeply emotional storytelling of migration and longing that endures across multi-generations.
Director Imtiaz Ali’s poetic, charming and heartbreaking film led by an incredible cast is layered by a soul-stirring soundtrack by A.R.
